It takes a minute or so for HouseCall to prepare for scanning. The amount of time varies according to your modem speed and traffic on the Internet. The next time you scan, there will not be such a long wait.
It is also possible that HouseCall doesn’t recognize your browser. HouseCall requires Internet Explorer (3.0 or above) or Netscape (3.01 or above). HouseCall works better with Explorer, which supports the ActiveX components that allow a silent installation to your system.
With the Java version of HouseCall, you need one extra step to install HouseCall on your system. If you use a browser that does not support ActiveX, HouseCall will point you to a page where you will get a chance to download HouseCall’s Java support components. Save the file to your local system, run it, follow the simple installation instructions, and restart your browser.
